About Gail Sidonie Sobat:

Gail Sidonie Sobat has always loved witches and once wanted to be one when she grew up. Instead she became a teacher, which some would argue is very nearly the same thing.

Long a fan of faery tales and literature of the fantastic--for young people and grown ups--she completed a Master’s degree in English at the University of Alberta in Children’s Literature, specializing in fantasy.

Gail wrote her first story in Grade three and her first poem in Grade four. Since then her work has been published in numerous journals, anthologies, and has been broadcast on radio and performed on stage. Ingamald was her first novel.

Gail lives in Edmonton where, in addition to writing, she sings with Geoff McMaster in coffee houses. She is sometimes an instructor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta, and she teaches the eating disorder girls at the U of A Hospital School.

A Winter's Tale
, the sequel to Ingamald, was published in May 2004 and A Glass Darkly, the third in the series, was published in October 2006 by Great Plains Publishing of Winnipeg,
Manitoba.
